Yeap.  It's happened.  I'm sellin' The Generalist - Taboo 0: Cliché of Memories over at Amazong right the hell now~!  All 44 pages with as complete an editing job as I can muster, a bit more content (to patch up some of the holes I purposefully left in when I posted it here~!), and also with this snazzy cover done by none other than Jade herself over at Jaded Shots (http://jadedshots.blogspot.com)!

So the current edition of Taboo 0 is kinda...eh, well not WONKY, but I'm reformatting it for Smashwords (so you Nook readers and fellow Barnes and Noble whores can snag it up~!) and will be moving the Authors' Notes to the back.  That and a major relevation: it's currently up for $2.99, which is outrageous since I wasn't going to raise the price until Taboo 1 is released~!  It SHOULD be at the wonderfully low price of $1.50, but bah...fucking Amazong is dragging their feet.

Still, I'm as excited as it gets and am more than willin' to spread this around!  Let yer friends know, tell yer folks, scream it to the goddamn hills.

Yeah, this is one of those lyrical ones I warned you guys about.

Suffice it to say, it's fairly blunt with the message, and if you have read my Anubis Unit and other songs you can already second-guess what those messages are.

Do I mind?  Hell no.  Sometimes what you NEED is a tac hammer to the skull, get yer bell rung good and proper.  Maybe THEN you'll get pissed off enough to be proactive.

So when I'm not working on Taboo 2 or workin' my ass off, I've been workin' these up in my state of delirium.  Just a whoooole lot of memories has surfaced while workin', and y'know what?


I ain't the only one who's been dealt an unfair hand in the land of blue-collar labor.


So I guess you can say I launched into more than a few of these pissed-off poems to get out, and my muse apparently approved of it.

What do you know of work?

Can you ever empathize with us on the ground level?
You up there, you executive types, you office types.
You look down at us during your lunch break, your coffee clutched within your manicured hands.

What do you know of work?

We walk.  We ride the bus.  We ride bicycles, sometimes used, most of them cheap, all of them breaking down.
You ride in nice cars.  Mostly new, some gently used, all of them working.

I can type fast, and without error.  I can file and answer the phone better than any of you.
So what's the difference?  What is that defining line between you and me?
Is it truly nepotism?  Is it that I don't know the right people, or have the right degree.

You make more than us, but we work harder.  We're here for twelve hours, you're here for six with a paid hour lunch.
Our half-hour lunches are unpaid, taken out of our hourly wage.

I am more qualified than any of you up there, and there are others who are as well, yet you look down on me.

Some of you, ESPECIALLY those closest to me, know of my efforts in the past year at several projects.  This one is just one of those, the writing and eventually serialization and sale-ification (yes, it's a word.  I just made it up.  Right now.  It's a word if I made it up, I'm a freakin' artist apparently) of The Generalist series you've grown to love and cuddle up to.

So yeap, it's that time.  After re-editing a FINAL final time, re-packaging and improving on the manuscript, I've finally got it up and ready to sell on Kindle (though do give me OOOOOONE last revision, since I'm preparing it for Smashwords as well and I want to use that format for Kindle), but there's a few issues going down.

For one, there's that Smashwords format of programming/writing I want to bring to Kindle.

Secondly, it's currently stuck at $2.99 though I lowered the price to $1.50, and when it comes time to pop Taboo 2 up for sale, I'll raise the price of Taboo 1 and sell Taboo 2 at $1.50, same with all other Taboos from now on.

Whenever an episode goes up for sale, they gotta come down here and you get this message with a link to buy and sample.

I'll still continue to post the unedited/lightly edited/raw manuscripts up here, and then later on give them the same treatment.  This way you can sample what it's going to be before you buy, a system I believe in highly.  BUT, I AM trusting you guys, y'knowwhatImean?

This is the honor system: you can accept the crappy-edited version of these stories and not pay, or pay what amounts to less than a cup of coffee (in some places) and receive a polished version full of proper grammar, little writing tidbits, and slightly more content.  I'm willing to believe in youse guys, and those who can't afford squat but are perfectly happy to retweet my tweets and repost my posts at Faecbawks.

Because I've done "final" (ish) edits to it and am now exercising my right to sell it wherever the hell I damn well please.

Now that you've calmed down a little, Dear Reader, perhaps I can get you some tea?  Okay.  Okay, obviously we DO need to talk a little though.

Some of you, ESPECIALLY those closest to me, know of my efforts in the past year at several projects.  This one is just one of those, the writing and eventually serialization and sale-ification (yes, it's a word.  I just made it up.  Right now.  It's a word if I made it up, I'm a freakin' artist apparently) of The Generalist series you've grown to love and cuddle up to.

So yeap, it's that time.  After re-editing a FINAL final time, re-packaging and improving on the manuscript, I've finally got it up and ready to sell on Kindle (though do give me OOOOOONE last revision, since I'm preparing it for Smashwords as well and I want to use that format for Kindle), but there's a few issues going down.

For one, there's that Smashwords format of programming/writing I want to bring to Kindle.

Secondly, it's currently stuck at $2.99 though I lowered the price to $1.50, and when it comes time to pop Taboo 1 up for sale, I'll raise the price of Taboo 0 and sell Taboo 1 at $1.50, same with all other Taboos from now on.

Whenever an episode goes up for sale, they gotta come down here and you get this message with a link to buy and sample.

I'll still continue to post the unedited/lightly edited/raw manuscripts up here, and then later on give them the same treatment.  This way you can sample what it's going to be before you buy, a system I believe in highly.  BUT, I AM trusting you guys, y'knowwhatImean?

This is the honor system: you can accept the crappy-edited version of these stories and not pay, or pay what amounts to less than a cup of coffee (in some places) and receive a polished version full of proper grammar, little writing tidbits, and slightly more content.  I'm willing to believe in youse guys, and those who can't afford squat but are perfectly happy to retweet my tweets and repost my posts at Faecbawks.

Of course this might change depending on customer performance...we'll see.

Because as I draw closer to mid-life, I realize I'm probably going to write crappy midlife poetry anyway. So I might as well do it at my pace, and at my will rather than because apparently all middle-agers simply do at the behest of time and social status.

Bah. Screw it. Here's an untitled poem for ya.

Life is a dream and I'm awake
I've heard all the crap, it's all I can take
I'm not thin-skinned but I'm so hard-headed

See others deserve all that they make
though your time and your life is what they take
You toe the line and feel some contentment

So will you refuse just what they say
Find your own style and live your own way
Certainly these things aren't unrelated?

If life is a dream why am I awake?
I've taken the abuse and seen what I can make
I've seen all the clues but I'm still jaded

I'm still jaded.
