Political Dogma

I quite literally just whipped this up last night. The timing's good, and I thankfully recorded an a capella of me singing it so I've got the riffs and rhythm memorized.

I'll be posting the a capella rendition of this later, I've got work tonight lol.

Political Dogma

And you act like you don't live
in a glass house
And you act like you're the only
one around
And you lower the standards
for everybody else
Simply to get ahead in the
voting box
the voting box
the voting box

Discretion never truly
given
And still you swear by all those
lonely words
Replaced your honor with some
dollar bills
And sold your soul up to
the Machine
In the machine
You feel it grinding

(bridge)

And you act like you don't live in
a glass house
And you act like you're the only
one around
So you lower the standard
for everybody else
Simply lie just to get ahead in the
polling race
the polling race
your saving disgrace

Discretion never truly
belonged here
Sell your honor for a few more
votes now
Replaced your pathetic soul with some
dollar bills
And sell yourself out to
the Machine
You're in the machine
Oh can you feel it griiiiiind......

Woah-oh....

A system of perks just to keep you
shackled here
Destroy the weak just to feed
the strong
Discretion and valor don't truly
belong here
Just prostrate yourself before
the Machine
Feel it grinding
Follow it's lead

feel it griiiiiind.....

    1. Thanks m'man! Yeah, once I get this a capella rendition of it down it'll sound waaaay better...plus when we actually do the song fully, naturally, it'll sound better.

    1. Thanks~! My style usually lays in the heavy metal/punk/hard rock range, but I'm always willing to strike out to different genres when it comes to my lyrics.

For some reason though, I've been in quite a punk mode. Dunno why. Perhaps the politics of the day? The wreckage of my life just flows naturally with punk sensibilities?

      LOL we'll see.

In the meantime, thanks for the follow! By all means take a look around, not just here but the rest of my blogs and projects and such.

I've also done quite a bit of voice acting and sound bytes. They come very recommended. :D

    1. Yeap. When my muse hits, I can make a single song or up to three songs or a whole script...sometimes half-works.

Usually when a concept hits and I flesh it out with an overview, it can take me up to a week to fine-tune everything but songs and lyrics are different.

SOOOOOME times. I recently finished the Chant of Hate, and I haven't even looked at the scrap I started with for something like six months. I also have two other songs that are like that - nothing but scraps until my head can clear it up out of the blue sometime.

Most of the time though? Yeap. Political dogma is the ur-example of how I write. ;D Just one-shot get as much as my head can think up down on paper or typed out, then tweak it until the timing is good and fits the riffs.

I have a bad habit of the timing running amok in the second half of a song. Usually I'll tweak it myself, but as of late I've been thinking about relying on my band more for that. All depends on what's goin' down, y'know?
